Wedding services: what to plan and what to ask

Review the details below before opening the enquiry form. Each service depends on your location, wedding date, guest count and local availability.

Catering & Pahadi Food

Plan the menu around your guest count, number of functions, dietary needs, service style and meal timings. Ask whether traditional Kumaoni dishes, snacks, tea, drinking water, cooks, serving staff, crockery, buffet counters, transport, cleanup and fuel are included. Request separate estimates for each function and confirm whether the price is per plate, per meal or a fixed event rate. Ask how the caterer handles late arrivals, extra plates, children’s meals, allergies and last-minute guest-count changes.

Tent, Mandap & Decoration

Start with the venue dimensions, guest count and ceremony layout. Request a written breakdown for the mandap, stage, guest seating, dining area, entrance, floral arrangements, fabric, lighting, sound, generator, delivery, installation and dismantling. In hill locations, confirm wind-safe structures, rain cover, uneven-ground support, access for delivery vehicles and a backup indoor space. Ask to see photos of previous work, clarify which flowers and materials are included, and check overtime or damage charges before approving the design.

Photography & Wedding Film

List every event that needs coverage and the expected start and finish times. Confirm the number of photographers and videographers, candid and traditional coverage, drone permissions where relevant, family portraits, highlight film, full-length ceremony video, album size and page count, editing style, delivery format and delivery deadline. Review complete wedding galleries rather than only social-media highlights. Ask whether travel, accommodation, meals, extra hours, raw footage and additional albums cost extra, and make sure the final deliverables are written into the quotation.

Bridal, Groom & Family Makeup

Share the event-wise schedule, getting-ready address, number of people, preferred makeup style, skin sensitivities and services required, including hairstyling, draping, grooming, jewellery setting and touch-ups. Ask what products and tools are included, how many artists will attend, how much time each person needs and whether a trial is available. For remote villages or early-morning ceremonies, confirm arrival time, travel and accommodation costs, lighting and power requirements, and charges for waiting or additional people.

Guest Stay & Accommodation

Prepare a rooming list by family group, number of nights and arrival time. Compare hotels, guesthouses, homestays and other suitable stays by distance from the ceremony, road access, parking, room capacity, hot water, heating, accessibility, meals and check-in flexibility. Ask about group rates, extra beds, child policies, cancellation terms, early arrivals, late departures and whether breakfast or other meals are included. For older guests, children and guests with mobility needs, plan ground-floor rooms and reliable transport between accommodation and the venue.

Transport & Local Coordination

Build a transport schedule with railway stations, bus stops, airports, hotels, village pickup points, passenger counts, luggage and departure times. Choose vehicles suitable for hill roads and confirm driver contact details, parking access, waiting charges, night travel restrictions and return-trip arrangements. Identify one local coordinator who can communicate with the caterer, decorator, photographer and family representative on the event day. Ask for a written estimate covering fuel, tolls, driver allowance, extra hours and any route-specific limitations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I plan from Delhi or another city?

Yes. Share your village or destination, date, guest count, budget and services through the enquiry form. The details help start the conversation; they do not automatically confirm a booking.

Will every service come in one package?

That depends on the date and local vendor availability. Some services may need separate quotations. A package is confirmed only after its inclusions and terms are agreed in writing.

Does an enquiry confirm a booking?

No. It starts the planning process. Confirm availability, final price, terms and payment directly with the service provider.
